BASIC STEPS IN THE CERTIFICATION PROCESS

These are the main steps of the CET Certification process, and their nomenclature. An organization may go through all or some of them, depending on their current level of cultural effectiveness.

Initial Audit

The initial audit may be immediately followed by the granting of the CET, or provide a "Gap Result". An organization can apply for no more than two initial audits within a five-year period.

The initial audit evaluates:

  • Basic cultural system management documentation
  • Degree of interactual effectiveness in the cultural system
  • Degree of cultural leadership effectiveness
  • Degree of effectiveness in HR administrative processes

For specific details, see the items and areas of CET Certification on the next page

Gap Result

Establishes gaps between target culture and actual culture. The project leader issues the Gap result. If the result provides sufficient elements for a "Certifying Result", documentation is sent to the Certifying Committee of the CEC.

Implantation

Is the process of implementing all actions intended to take current cultural system to target cultural system and certification?

Follow-up Audit

Confirms that the current cultural system meets global-effectiveness criteria for certification. The follow-up audit is implemented after initial audit. And implementation stages.

Final Result

The Certifying Committee issues a final decision based on initial audit or follow-up audit results. If an organization receives a negative grade on a final result, it must wait for 36 months to apply for certification again.
